Our Commitment to The Community
The Head Gardener’s deep-rooted commitment to community outreach is a cornerstone of our identity. Since 1988, under the leadership of local philanthropist Alison McRitchie, we’ve grown into a trusted name in Inverness, known not just for exceptional hair care but also for our dedication to giving back.
Our stylists play an active role in the community, by supporting fundraising events and by volunteering at the Highland Hospice and Maggie’s Highland, providing haircuts and styling for those who can’t visit the salon. We believe in making people feel good from the inside out, regardless of age, gender, or circumstance—a philosophy that drives everything we do.
Our salon leads by example, participating in global cycling challenges to raise additional funds for the Hospice, providing wig makeovers and volunteering weekly. Everyone at The Head Gardener shares this ethos of compassion and community service, making us not just a salon, but a force for good in our community.
Funds Raised
The Head Gardener is proud to be closely involved with the Highland Hospice and end of life care together, raising significant funds and awareness through our annual event Catwalk for a Cause. Over the past decade, we are very proud to have generated over £500,000 in support of the Hospice.
